Samples of Projects

Please feel welcome to email Maureen for more information about any of these projects.

Touching Many Lives (art installation) - envisioned by the Transition Team at River Road UU Congregation, working with Rev. Killoran to help the congregation gain a deeper understanding of the myriad ways the congregation is connected with the wider world.  The installation, entitled "Chalices of Our Being," connected with  Maureen's sermon of the same name.  Each entry on the wall represents a point of connection with the wider world, whether through social justice, UU connection, or other aspects of community.  Transition Team members developed the lists by contacting every committee or task force chair and staff member.  The exhibit was created by Transition Team member and artist Barbara Lewis.

Healthy Ways of Being in Community
(poster) - Created as a "memory aid" for a congregation that was seeking to move away from confrontational styles of interaction, this text was first shared in the context of a sermon, given as individual handouts, and then created in poster-size format for use in various locations throughout the facility.

Staff Covenant
(River Road UU Congregation, Bethesda, MD)
This covenant was developed and agreed to by the core staff of RRUUC, over a period of four months in the fall of 2011.

H
uman Resources Manual
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, 2009
(19 pages)
Acting as Head of Staff and with approval of the governing board, Rev. Killoran sought input from existing staff, consulted sample Human Resources manuals from the Unitarian Universalist Association, and reviewed the personnel policies of congregations with positive track records of staff relations.  She solicited comments and feedback from key lay leaders before preparing, and receiving board approval for, the attached document.   This manual represents an extensive revision to the previous set of policies, and has received enthusiastic support from staff.  Included are several substantive policy changes including the addition of a pension plan for all staff working half time or better, just and comprehensive grievance policies, the addition of Martin Luther King Day as a paid holiday and a new personal leave program.

Spirit Tickling - Self-guided coaching e-workbook for personal transition and spiritual growth (37 pages).  Written during Maureen's community ministry as a personal and organizational transition coach, the workbook contains short, meditative articles with directed questions and exercises for personal exploration.
